about

everyone is busy. almost nobody is unavailable.

most people have a free saturday morning and no plan for it. not because there is nothing to do, and not because there is nobody to do it with.
it is because somebody has to ask, and asking is the hard part.
Six people stretching and laughing before a morning run on a suburban street
the idea
the activity comes first. the people come after.
every other app puts a person in front of you and asks whether you want to know them. that is a heavy question to answer about a stranger, and it is the wrong one.
Let’s asks something much easier: do you want to do this thing, on this day, near here. saying yes to a bike ride costs nothing. you find out about the people on the ride.
that is the whole difference, and everything else in the product follows from it — the feed is made of sentences, not faces, and the chat exists to get four people to the same place at the same time, then gets out of the way.
what we are not building
no profiles to scroll
there is no gallery of people here and there never will be. you see plans, and only then the handful of people on them.
no feed to keep up with
nothing accumulates. every chat has an end date built into it the moment it opens.
no reason to stay in the app
a good session ends with you closing your phone and going somewhere. we are not competing for your evening.
why johannesburg
a city that drives everywhere and knows nobody two streets over.
joburg is full of people who moved here for work, live behind a wall, and have a padel racket in the boot they have not used since march. the distance between wanting to do something and doing it is a phone call nobody makes.
it is also a city where meeting a stranger is a real decision, so safety is not a settings page we added later. it is in the product from the first version.
we are opening one suburb at a time, because a feed with nothing in it teaches people the app is empty and they never come back. see where we are now →
what the first version does, and nothing more.
everything else on the roadmap waits until people tell us they want it.
01 post an activity
02 find what is on near you
03 join with one tap
04 a chat that closes itself
05 a place and a time
06 private ratings after
we are pre-launch, and we would rather open properly than early.
leave an email and we will tell you the day the feed goes live near you. if you run an estate, an office park or a club, tell us — those are the places we open first.
