you can close your Let’s account from inside the app, or ask us to do it if you can no longer sign in. this page sets out exactly what is deleted, what is kept, and how long each takes.
this is the fastest route and it needs nothing from us.
open Let’s and go to settings and privacy.
choose delete account, at the bottom of the screen.
confirm. the account is closed immediately and you are signed out on every device.
email privacy@lets-app.co.za from the address on the account, or with the phone number on the account in the message, and ask us to delete it. we will confirm the request belongs to you before acting on it.
we answer deletion requests within 30 days, and usually within a few working days. you do not need to give a reason and we will not try to talk you out of it.
deletion cannot be undone. there is no restore window and no archived copy you can ask us to bring back.
the thirty days exist so that a deletion made in anger, or by someone who briefly had your phone, can still be queried — and so that a report made against the account can be dealt with. nothing about your profile is visible to other users during that time.
where someone has reported the account, records related to that report may be kept after deletion, for as long as we need them to handle the matter or to meet a legal obligation. this is the only exception.
messages you sent in a group chat are deleted with your account. the chat itself closes an hour after its plan ends and is deleted thirty days later, whether or not anyone deletes their account.
you do not have to delete everything to reduce what we hold. under edit profile you can remove your photo, clear your interests, or set your gender to “prefer not to say”. under privacy you can stop showing your gender and your approximate distance to other people.
what the app collects and how long each thing is kept is set out in the app privacy policy.
